Pakistani star Rumaisa Khan fires back at Vivek Oberoi’s father over his anti-Pakistani artist comments.
Something spicy just went down in the world of celebrity drama, and we are here for it! Bollywood veteran Suresh Oberoi, yes, the father of actor Vivek Oberoi, made some bold comments about banning Pakistani artists from working in India.
And guess what? Pakistani actress and influencer Rumaisa Khan did not take that sitting down. Oh no, she did not just roll her eyes and move on. She came out swinging with her words.
Suresh Oberoi said that Pakistani singers, actors, and entertainers shouldn’t be allowed to work in India because “charity begins at home,” and that India must promote its artists; he even invoked their past political tensions.
Cue Rumaisa Khan, who, as usual, responded with sass and no-holds-barred on her socials, and the fan reaction was iconic and hilarious all at once.
” Uncle Ji, if it’s a problem of talent, say that. Don’t involve a whole nation,” she argued. Oof!
Then she went further. Rumaisa called out the hundreds of thousands of Indian fans of Pakistani dramas and music. “Come on, half your playlists were bang on with Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan anyway….
Finally, she even joked that banning artists won’t make the bad acting of Bollywood disappear. “Maybe instead of banning Pakistanis, ban overacting first,” she quipped.
Her remarks went viral on Instagram and X. People said she was honest and brave. Several Indian users said this, too. One stated that art should not be confined by boundaries. Some people, naturally, had strong views in the opposite direction, too.
People are starting to call her the “queen of comebacks,”
Meanwhile, neither Vivek Oberoi nor his dad seems to have had any service to respond to Rumaisa’s roast. But the internet has already chosen a side. Rumaisa’s fan club seems to be magically growing by the second.
